Peach Tea Infused Applesauce

Homemade applesauce is so simple, so delicious, and, chances are, you probably have the ingredients already in your kitchen! Our PEACH TEA INFUSED APPLESAUCE tastes like the inside of an apple pie. With it’s natural sweetness, a touch of ground cinnamon, and your favorite herbal peach tea you won’t want to purchase canned applesauce again. This homemade applesauce is delicious on it’s own but is also a great side treat with your meal. I like to use it as a topping on my morning oatmeal, or it will pair deliciously with your favorite yogurt. So, let’s get cooking!

PEACH TEA INFUSED APPLESAUCE:INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 small-medium sized apples, peeled and sliced. (We used half Gala and half Red Delicious apples)
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 peach teabags
  • 3 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

METHOD:

  • Start by preparing your apples. Wash, peel and slice them. Add them to a mixing bowl, and squeeze the juice of a lemon over the apple slices. Fold the apple slices around so they all get coated in the lemon juice.
  • In a medium-large saucepan add 1 cup water with two peach teabags. Bring water to a boil. Turn off heat, stir in the three Tablespoons sugar, and let the the teabags seep for about five minutes.
  • After the tea has steeped for five minutes, add the apple slices and ground cinnamon.
  • Cook on medium heat until the apple slices are very soft.
  • With a potato masher, mash the apple slices down to desired consistency.
  • Let cool before serving.
  • Enjoy!
